What it holds
Lead, contact and opportunity records hold the sales database. Lead activity history can contain emails, telephone calls, SMS messages and notes, which are included in JSON rather than ordinary CSV exports.
Where Close shows the size
- Sign in as an Admin or Super User.
- Clear the Leads search and use ... > Export for separate leads, contacts and opportunities CSVs.
- Count non-header rows in all three files to obtain the combined record inventory.
Plan and admin role. Admin and Super User can export on Essentials, Growth and Scale. Restricted Users cannot export; custom roles are available only on Scale.
Exporting the full history
- From an unrestricted Leads search, choose ... > Export.
- Set Type to leads, format to JSON and select All fields to include activity history.
- Retrieve the emailed download within seven days and create contact/opportunity CSVs if flat tables are also needed.
CSV output omits activities.
POST /api/v1/export/lead/ supports leads, contacts and lead_opps in CSV or JSON with gzip downloads. For activities, use JSON leads and include_activities=true.
You don't need to run an export to talk to us, and there's no need to clean it first — removing personal data is part of our work.
