Finding and exporting your Coda data
Coda does not provide an overall storage reading. Measure exported documents in MB, ensuring that ownership boundaries do not leave documents out.

What it holds
Documents combine narrative text, structured tables and collaborative workflows. Their exports can preserve readable content and rows, but rendered copies serve a different purpose from structured data.
Where Coda shows the size
- Ask each document owner to open Account settings > Advanced settings > Export My Data.
- Download the TXT and CSV output and total the files in MB across owners without counting duplicate copies.
- For Enterprise coverage, have an organization admin enumerate documents with Admin API List docs and use the Doc Export endpoints.
Plan and admin role. Account exports cover only documents owned by the signed-in user. The Admin API requires an Enterprise organization and an organization administrator.
Exporting the full history
- Collect Export My Data output from each owner.
- For a visual copy, open the document’s three-dot menu > Print & export > Export to PDF and select the whole document.
- Enterprise admins can export every document returned by List docs, including documents left by former staff. Check the organization’s data export policy first.
An Enterprise export policy can disable exporting.
Admin API HTML exports have a 125 MB per-document cap; this limit does not apply to PDF or plain text.
Owner-only downloads are not an organization backup unless every relevant owner is covered.
You don't need to run an export to talk to us, and there's no need to clean it first — removing personal data is part of our work.
