What it holds

Call logs hold telephony activity and duration, while recordings and transcripts are separately accessible assets. Contact Center recordings may also be copied into customer-controlled Google Cloud Storage.

Where Dialpad shows the size

  1. In the Admin Portal, open Analytics and select offices/groups and dates.
  2. Choose Export(.csv), select the call logs report and Send report, then retrieve the emailed CSV.
  3. Sum durations for recorded calls and divide seconds by 3,600; ask Customer Care to enable the recordings export for a recording inventory.

Plan and admin role. Company Admins and users with Analytics permission can export office-wide data. Analytics export exists on all plans, but available report types vary.

Exporting the full history

  1. Export call logs through Analytics > Export(.csv) for each required scope and period.
  2. Have Customer Care enable recordings export, run it and download MP3s from the resulting links.
  3. For supported Contact Center accounts, a Company Admin can configure Admin Settings > My Company > Integrations > Google Cloud Storage for Bulk Backup.
  4. Retrieve required transcripts per call through the API, separately from analytics CSVs.

Essential and Advanced provide 45-day recording/transcript access; Premium provides up to one year, with longer access purchasable. Company retention policies can shorten this.

Recordings export starts disabled and omits admin call recordings. Analytics files contain no transcripts.

Bulk Backup applies to Contact Center recordings on Dialpad Support plans and Coaching Teams; historic backup can reach two years.

Canceled-account data is deleted after 180 days.

You don't need to run an export to talk to us, and there's no need to clean it first — removing personal data is part of our work.
