Finding and exporting your Odoo data
Odoo record counts follow app permissions and active filters. A full backup provides wider coverage than exporting a few selected lists.

What it holds
Odoo stores records across installed business apps, including accounting, sales and inventory. Attachments and binary fields may live in the filestore alongside the database.
Where Odoo shows the size
- With an administrator account, open the target app in list view.
- Remove default filters and include archived records where appropriate; read the displayed count.
- Repeat for invoices, journal items and sales orders, keeping these different record types separate.
Plan and admin role. List counts and exports are restricted by model access and record rules. Database backups additionally require database-manager or Odoo.sh project access, not merely an app administrator login.
Exporting the full history
- For Odoo Online, visit odoo.com/my/databases, select the database, then Manage > Download Backup.
- For Odoo.sh, open the production branch > Backups and download a backup including the filestore.
- For selected tables, select records in list view and choose the gear menu > Export, then CSV or Excel.
If Online disables Download Backup because of database size, request an alternative from support.
Large list exports can time out; split them into batches. A database-only export omits filestore content, so verify backup components before calling it complete.
You don't need to run an export to talk to us, and there's no need to clean it first — removing personal data is part of our work.
