Finding and exporting your Rippling data
Rippling report counts reflect the viewer’s permissions and filters. A company-wide estimate requires broad authorised scope, not simply access to the Reports app.

What it holds
Rippling stores workforce profiles and, where enabled, payroll and attendance records. Reports can join HR, IT and connected-app information, including sensitive personal fields.
Where Rippling shows the size
- Open Reports using an admin profile authorised for the required employees and payroll/time data.
- Create or copy an employee report; include terminated staff where available and count distinct employees.
- Create full-period payroll and time reports, recording whether each count means runs, payment rows or time entries.
Plan and admin role. Reporting is available within each user’s permission profile. Use an authorised administrator covering all required entities and populations for company-wide figures.
Exporting the full history
- Open each saved report and use its download or export control to retrieve the full table.
- Keep employee, payroll and time datasets in separate protected files.
- For exports too large for reporting, ask the account team about developer-platform or Pipelines options and their entitlement requirements.
There is no universal whole-account export. Confirm file formats and row limits with support because detailed Help Center instructions require sign-in.
Only record counts are needed for a data inventory. Individual HR files, salaries, bank details, tax identifiers and identity documents are excluded from licensing; any internal preservation archive must remain private and access-controlled.
You don't need to run an export to talk to us, and there's no need to clean it first — removing personal data is part of our work.
