Finding and exporting your SAP data
SAP is a product family, not one export interface. Ask the technical owner to identify the deployment before choosing DB02, database tools or a product-specific extraction method.

What it holds
SAP deployments may contain finance, procurement, sales, inventory and other enterprise records. The actual modules, company codes and archived periods depend on the installation.
Where SAP shows the size
- Confirm whether the company uses ECC, S/4HANA or Business One, and identify its database and hosting model.
- For ECC or S/4HANA, ask the basis administrator to inspect database size and growth using DB02 where supported.
- For Business One, ask the SQL Server or SAP HANA administrator for the company-database size; request scoped table counts if record totals are needed.
Plan and admin role. DB02 is a restricted basis-administration function. Business One database access normally belongs to IT or the SAP partner; extraction rights depend on the contract and hosting arrangement.
Exporting the full history
- Agree company codes, modules, tables and historical periods with the basis team or partner.
- For ECC and S/4HANA, use the extraction tools permitted by the deployment and licence.
- For Business One on SQL Server, use the remote support platform or SQL Server Management Studio for a full backup; include required application subdirectories.
There is no universal business-user export button. A SQL Server procedure does not apply automatically to SAP HANA.
The remote support platform supports scheduled backup types and related subdirectories; a Management Studio backup requires those directories to be copied separately. Secure and validate backups with the technical owner.
You don't need to run an export to talk to us, and there's no need to clean it first — removing personal data is part of our work.
